Rosetti Mali Crossbody Bag
We designed the Mali crossbody to solve the daily juggle of keys, phone, wallet, and essentials without weighing you down. Its structured silhouette keeps contents organized across four zippered compartments, while the adjustable strap lets you dial in the perfect drop length for your frame.
The Mali’s clean-lined exterior hides serious storage inside — main zip pocket, front organizer panel with card slots, back security pocket, and a side zip for quick-grab items. Whether you’re running errands, commuting, or traveling light, the Mali keeps everything accessible without the bulk of a traditional handbag.

Four-Compartment Organization System
The Rosetti Mali crossbody bag divides your essentials across four dedicated zones so you never dig for your phone or keys. The main compartment holds larger items like sunglasses, a small water bottle, or a paperback. The front organizer panel features six card slots, two slip pockets for receipts or cash, and a pen loop — ideal for keeping payment cards and ID separate from bulkier items.
A back security pocket sits flush against your body when worn crossbody-style, perfect for your phone or passport during travel. The side zip compartment gives instant access to lip balm, earbuds, or anything you reach for constantly. This four-zone layout eliminates the single-cavity chaos of traditional bags and means you can find what you need without unzipping every pocket.

Adjustable Strap & Comfortable Carry
We built the Mali’s strap system around real feedback from women who carry crossbody bags all day. The woven strap adjusts from 22 to 25 inches in drop length, letting you wear it higher on the ribcage or lower at the hip depending on your torso length and outfit. Metal slide buckles make adjustment quick and hold position securely once set.
The strap itself measures 1.25 inches wide — narrow enough to layer comfortably under jackets but wide enough to distribute weight without digging into your shoulder. At just under one pound empty, the Mali won’t add fatigue during long days out. The bag’s balanced weight distribution keeps it from swinging or bouncing when you walk, a common complaint with overstuffed crossbodies.
Water-Resistant Fabric & Hardware
The Mali’s outer shell uses a tightly woven polyester treated with a water-resistant finish that sheds light rain and accidental spills. While not submersible, the coating protects contents from sudden weather changes or coffee splashes. We chose this fabric for its durability and easy maintenance — spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air-dry.
Metal zippers feature oversized pulls that work with gloves or cold fingers, and the gunmetal-tone hardware resists tarnish better than plated alternatives. Contrast topstitching reinforces high-stress zones like strap attachment points and pocket openings. The flat base lets the Mali stand upright when set down, keeping it off dirty surfaces.

Common Questions About the Mali Crossbody
The main compartment measures approximately 9 inches wide by 7 inches tall and holds items like sunglasses in a case, a small folding umbrella, a paperback book, a compact water bottle, or a light sweater. The 3-inch depth accommodates bulkier essentials while the bag maintains its structured shape.
For reference, most standard wallets, cosmetic pouches, and phone chargers fit comfortably. We recommend using the other three compartments for flatter items like cards and phone to maximize main-compartment space for larger objects.
The Mali’s strap features metal slide buckles on each end near the bag attachment points. To adjust, lift the metal tab on the buckle and slide the strap through to lengthen or shorten the drop. The strap adjusts from 22 to 25 inches measured from the top of the bag to the bottom of the strap loop.
Once you find your preferred length, the buckle locks in place and won’t slip during wear. Most users set it once and leave it, though the quick-adjust design makes it easy to switch between wearing over a heavy coat versus a t-shirt.
The Mali is water-resistant, not waterproof. The woven polyester fabric has a protective coating that repels light rain, splashes, and spills, keeping contents dry during brief exposure to moisture. It will shed drizzle and handle everyday wetness like setting the bag down on a damp surface.
For heavy rain or submersion, we recommend added protection like packing important items in a small ziplock pouch. The water-resistant finish is ideal for typical daily use but not designed for prolonged soaking or full immersion.
Most 7-inch tablets and standard e-readers fit in the main compartment, though snugly. A full-size iPad or 10-inch tablet will not fit due to the Mali’s compact dimensions. The bag is optimized for phone, wallet, keys, and personal essentials rather than larger electronics.
If you regularly carry a tablet, consider our Lydia crossbody hobo, which offers more interior volume while maintaining the crossbody convenience you’re looking for.
The Mali’s front organizer panel features six horizontal card slots that each hold one to two standard credit cards or ID cards. Below the card slots are two larger slip pockets sized for folded bills, receipts, or a checkbook, plus a pen loop on the left side.
This layout mirrors a wallet’s organization, so many Mali owners skip carrying a separate wallet and use the front panel as their primary card and cash storage. The organizer sits behind a zippered flap to keep contents secure.
The Mali is distinguished by its four-compartment system — main zip, front organizer panel, back security pocket, and side zip — offering more internal separation than most of our crossbody line. It balances structured shape with lightweight construction, making it ideal for all-day wear.
Our other crossbody styles vary in silhouette and compartment count. The Aria offers a more minimalist two-pocket design, the Kendra uses three parallel zips for maximum separation, and the Lydia has a relaxed hobo shape with more interior volume. The Mali sits in the middle for versatility and organization.
Spot-clean the exterior with a damp microfiber cloth and a small amount of mild soap when needed. Avoid machine washing, which can damage the water-resistant coating and metal hardware. For stubborn stains, gently blot rather than scrub to preserve the fabric’s finish.
Allow the bag to air-dry completely before storing it upright in a cool, dry place. Keep zippers free of debris by occasionally wiping the teeth with a clean cloth. With regular light cleaning and proper storage, the Mali maintains its appearance and function for years.
